Our mission

Leading collaborative efforts that build healthy communities.

We envision

a city in which every neighborhood is full of safe, walkable communities for all to enjoy; where every business thrives, every student succeeds and every neighborhood is safe. We're always asking what we love about our communities, what we want for our future, and are we willing to work together to make it a reality?

Our History

2018

The alliance held a meeting with over 200 residents, businesses, investors, and public officials to put our vision on paper and create a plan for those shaping and developing our community to follow. We formed an advisory team to help carry out this vision as our community continued to grow.

Today

19North Community Alliance is an organization that supports small businesses, finds solutions that address needs and safety together, and continues to facilitate cohesive stakeholder collaboration to achieve the collective vision of unique communities across the Northwest Phoenix valley.

2017

The Northwest Extension of the light rail down the center of 19th Avenue was completed. This brought all kinds of change, positive and negative. We wanted a say in how to address these changes and lead the next chapter of our community's story, so we formed the 19North Community Alliance.

2019

The Advisory Team created a Vision, Mission and Strategy for the future of our community. Supporting programs were initiated and a meaningful shift began to occur - conversations began to center around partnering together for our shared vision. The non-profit 501c3 9NORTH Community Alliance Inc was formed and the work of the Community Alliance continued to build collaboration and cohesion between all aspects of community.

Achievements
Our Achievements

Since 2017, we've been working hard to develop and execute the vision for the 19north district and beyond. Here are some of our achievements... so far!

 ✦ 19North District Policy Plan

Over a two year period, and with over a dozen community engagement meetings, the stakeholders in the development of the 19th avenue light rail corridor developed a policy plan to capture their vision for the area, determine the necessary actions to achieve it, and put accountability mechanisms in place to ensure it gets done. The 19North Transit Oriented Development District was officially adopted by the Phoenix City Council in April 2021.
